BCIC signs up with Japan's SME organisation to step up manufacturing share to India's GDP
The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with The Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan (SMRJ). The MoU aims to support enterprises in India and Japan in expanding their businesses globally, exchanging information on trade and investment policies, and providing opportunities for SMEs and start-ups in both countries. The Centre for Internet Firms (BCIC) is planning to make a regulatory clause that protects internet companies from prosecution over user-generated content published on their platforms, rather than the norm. The clause is part of a larger effort by Consumer Cos to increase India's manufacturing share to contribute to the country's GDP. The company is also seeking Rural Mandate with Polls Consumer goods companies and automakers. The elections in five states in early April and the general elections in April-May 2024 are expected to stimulate rural demand.
